Be Glad for Weakness

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.  Isaiah 40:28-31

I've been involved in several discussions lately regarding our weaknesses; the phrase, "we all have our issues" has come up more than once.

Sometimes we get down on ourselves for our weaknesses, our faults. Or we pretend like we don't have any - like we are the only perfect one on earth!

But is that scriptural?  Is that what God wants from us, to pretend?  Doesn't He call us to an authentic faith, an authentic life, where we live together, harmoniously, warts and all?

God doesn't want us to pretend to be perfect or strong.  It's in our weakness that He renews us.  It's in our faults that He comes shining through.  It's in our issues that He perfects us.

Don't try to pretend you're good at everything.  Don't waste your time acting like you don't have any problems or issues.  Celebrate your shortcomings, because that is where God can really shine through!
